FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do you photograph?
After 16 years as a professional photographer, I have had the opportunity to photograph just about everything. Until recently, I have concentrated on wedding and have marketed towards that. However, while that was happening I was always photographing other things. Today I'm focusing a lot on portraiture, events and products.
Currently, I photograph headshots, lifestyle/branding, dogs, families, corporate events, live theatre/music and products. In 2024, I have decided to slowly step away from wedding photography and will only take on very select weddings (maybe). :)

What is your style?
A combination of editorial (fashion-inspired, magazine-like) and photojournalism (natural moments, documentary). Each assignment from various genres of photography sometimes requires specific "styles" or aesthetics, so I try to be a chameleon and explore new things often.
How long have you been a photographer?
I've been a professional photographer since 2009. Until 2013, photography was a part-time business for me, but since 2013, it has become my career.
Do you shoot with a second shooter?
Depending on the project, sometimes I will have multiple assistants, and other times I will be working along. For wedding work, I always work with a lighting assistant (or "second shooter"). When we are not utilizing lighting, they will grab a camera and shoot as a second photographer - usually at the ceremony and reception. However, we are always in the same place at the same time and do not separate into different locations throughout the day.
What equipment do you use?
As a professional, I not only have professional-grade camera bodies, lenses and lighting equipment, but I also carry backups. For some reason, if you need specifics on brands, camera gear models, etc. just send me an email and I'll give you the scoop.
Do you travel for work?
We travel anywhere (worldwide). Travel within the GTA is usually included but there are situations where travel fees may apply. If you require us to travel outside the GTA, we will provide you with a custom quote.
Do you do Destination Weddings?
Yes, we do. Inquire with us with some details.
How many images will I receive?
Depending on the project, the number of images varies. My clients value quality versus quantity but on average we deliver anywhere from 600 to 800 images for a wedding day and 60-80 images from an engagement session, for example. Numbers may vary.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
Again, depends on the project and the complexity of the shoot and post-production.
Can I purchase prints / albums from you?
Definitely. To us, the print is the final product. Albums / Fine Art Books are typically included in our wedding collections. Engagement albums and sign-in books, as well as Fine Art Prints and Wall Art Prints are available for purchase a la carte.
Albums and prints produced by Raph Nogal Photography receive detailed and custom editing and are hand-retouched.
Can I print my own photos?
If you purchase printed products from us, we can guarantee the colour and quality of the prints, and we typically hand-retouch all files destined for printing by us. You are welcome to print your own files, but the digital and printable images are globally edited, not hand-retouched.
Do you scout the locations before the wedding?
Typically not, unless it is required for commercial jobs or specific projects. For weddings, I used to and it never provided me with any advantages as the light is always different during the shoot. We are shooting at different times of year, at different times of the day and with varying weather conditions. Without scouting I can be more creative and embrace spontaneity - this is how I create my best work.
Do you shoot video?
We like to concentrate on one thing and do it well, which is photography. I would be happy to bring someone on a project if you require video work. Send me an email and we will make it happen.
Can I cancel my wedding? Is there a refund?
You can cancel your contract with us at any time, however any retainers or monies paid are non-refundable. Your date is held exclusively for you and we likely turned down other business as we were booked for your date.
What happens if you are not able to make it on our wedding day?
As much as I would love to promise you the world, I can't... so the most realistic answer is that I would do everything in my power to source out another great photographer of similar caliber to be there to cover your wedding day. If that proved to be impossible, I would refund you all monies that you have paid towards your photography service with us.
Do you offer discount for off-season or weekday weddings?
It seems off-season is a thing of the past and people are embracing the winter and all seasons of the year for their nuptials. Unfortunately, we don't have any special pricing for these types of situations, but you can always contact us and inquire.
Can we customize our package?
Definitely! Our wedding collections are designed based on our client's average needs, but if you would like something custom and as unique as you, please contact us and we will be more than happy to put together a custom collection for you.
How can we book you?
in 2024 I am slowly stepping away from weddings, but may take on a very select few. I would love to hear about your wedding day plans and have the opportunity to meet with you in person or at least on Zoom. Please fill out our Contact Form on our website or give me a call (647-295-6495) to arrange a consultation in our Toronto (south Etobicoke) studio.
