Would you believe this photo was taken in an ordinary living room? We had to create a gorgeous photo on the spot and knew dramatic lighting was a way to make something incredible out of something ordinary. With the bride and groom at the centre, off-camera flash and the existing light fixtures were used to create a moody, romantic feel. The spotlight on the couple, against the dark shadows, serves to keep them as the sole focus.
This photo was taken with a Nikon D750 DSLR at ISO 250, f6.3 aperture, 1/200th shutter speed with a Nikon Nikkor 35mm f1.4 prime lens, at 35mm focal length.
The lighting was a flash on a monopod, held by Oliver. The flash contained the MagMod snoot (MagSnoot) and grid (MagGrid) to extremely narrow the beam of light and creating a softer light falloff on the edges.
